Dining Choices; Why Your Fast Food Habit Needs To Stop

Today’s Dining Choices Are Drastically Different From Our Parents

If you take a look back in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s less was known about health food because of no internet to spread the health benefits of certain foods/diets.  Now that we have the internet dining choices have changed drastically because of people’s needs to stay healthy.

Top Dining Choices In The 80’s and 90’s

Like many of you, I was addicted to Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Sizzler, and more in the 80’s and 90’s.  What was your favorite fast food restaurant when you were younger?  How many of you enjoyed visiting these restaurants when you were younger but don’t want to take your families there now?  I have to agree because of the unhealthiness of fast food and ability to find out what’s really in your food, I do not visit a single fast food restaurant.  Sizzler was a family favorite of mine and while I don’t even know if they exist anymore, the vast amount of food being served was not healthy and eating all-you-can-eat buffet style never is.

Why Fast Food Isn’t Necessarily Food We Should Be Eating

If you have kids or even if you don’t, you know the benefits of eating somewhere you can take your time eating instead of being just “in” or “out”.  I’m not sure how it is in other parts of the country but in New York City and New Jersey I hardly recognize some of the fast food franchises popping up but do try to stay focused on healthier types of restaurants.  I especially like healthy restaurants that feature a type of diet that is great for people to make their bodies more alkaline.

What exactly does alkaline mean?  Alkaline means your blood is between a PH Level of 7.35 and 7.45.  Alkalinity can help you fight cancer and other diseases plus allow you to live a very healthy life.  If you want to become more alkaline simply try to drink a green smoothie/juice daily and try having lemon water in the mornings before having any other beverage.  The temperature of the water is controversial so I won’t even go there!  But I prefer using a lemon essential oil over regular lemon!

The reason why fast food isn’t healthy is because many of the foods being served are the lowest grade of meat.  The quality of the salads being offered at most fast food restaurants are not of enough quality to even take that into effect in writing this piece as almost ZERO use organic fruits and vegetables.  Also we are being introduced to nitrates and other chemicals that we should not be consuming.  If we get rid of these unhealthy fast food habits and start eating more alkaline, we will be able to enjoy more out of life.

Which Dining Options Are Right For You

Everyone’s dining options are different are we all need different nutrients to survive and no one-diet is going to be the end-all.  My favorite restaurants are a mix of Vegan, Paleo, and Modern.  All of these types of restaurants take different approaches to cooking from using a dehydrator to cooking with animal fat, and lastly modern cuisine.  Next time you want to try something “fast” try an Acai bowl, a Paleo, or make your own meal which can sometimes be even faster than ordering from one of these type restaurants above as clean living doesn’t require tons of ingredients just quality.  Do you prefer to eat out or prepare meals?  Why?
